I never realized how many decisions actually go into pulling together a wedding. There are the important ones, like what food do we serve, and where should we host our wedding, and who should we invite? And then there are the ones that seem important, are slightly overwhelming, and take up way too much time and energy - but in the end, really make a wedding {in my opinion}. These smaller decisions include lengthy discussions around invitation wording and fonts, chair and linen colors, floral details and design, cake flavors and toppers, lighting pattens and placement, and so many more. Here are some of my favorite details from our wedding:
the floral/ lighting
bouquets and boutonnières: a stem above put together some of the most beautiful bouquets i have ever seen. the bridesmaids carried an arrangement with calla lilies, pin cushion protea, billy balls, ranunculus - all in bright yellow. i carried an arrangement of while calla lilies - wrapped in some of the fabric from my wedding dress. the boys wore calla lilies and yt matched me - with white :)
tables
we had two arrangements of flowers for the dinner tables. one was a low arrangement with a collection of modern black and white vases, each with a specific one of the yellow flowers listed above. the second was a tall white cylindrical vase, filled with airy and delicate oncidium orchids. we chose black linens, with a silver chair and a black cushion and lots of candles to complete the look.
lighting
frost brought the outside in, with a beautiful leafy pattern on all of our walls. the amber color complimented the yellow accents throughout the room.
the escort cards/ paper goods
we choose a simple and casual calligraphy on light gray card stock from paper source. the amazing calligrapher stacey shapiro was the hand behind every escort card and all of our signage {frames from ikea}. all of our save the dates, invites, table numbers and thank you notes are via ellie snow at hello tenfold!
