Info Post
One of the biggest takeaways from my survey last week was that people want to know more about my life {except for one person who told me they'd like me to post less about my personal issues ... to that person, I am sorry for the below post}.

I personally love reading about other bloggers - especially when there's that "ah-ha" moment of "we've never met, but I think we could totally be friends!" Anyway, I often share tidbits of what's going on in my little world, but here's a more thorough update.

work: For those of you who don't know, in May (about two weeks before my wedding) I quit the job I had been at for over three years in advertising (specifically as a media planner for MillerCoors .. more specifically for Coors Light) to pursue a more creative job. I seriously hated the amount of time I spent a) in a cubicle b) in microsoft excel c) talking about sports and beer - two things I could frankly care less about. I worked with a wedding planner for a couple events to make sure it was a good fit and now, roughly 6 months, 33 weddings and 10 corporate events later, I can honestly say that making the switch was such a great move for me. I now work in a pretty office {see ya never cubicle} with 2 other women {quite the change from a 1,000+ corporation}. I spend my days meeting with potential clients, blogging about decor and design {among other things} and coordinating events on the weekends from start to finish. Besides the slightly dramatic salary decrease, I'm loving this new avenue I'm on and can't wait to see where it takes me.

emory: Back in November, I blogged about our newly adopted dog and her severe separation anxiety. Lots of readers offered advice and support, and it seriously helped get me to a happier place {well that, and the one day at work when I had a slight nervous breakdown about this matter and realized I needed to shape up - fast}. For those who wanted an update: Em is doing all right. Per a trainer and our vet's recommendation, we've started her on Prozac which has been proven to help calm dogs with anxieties. It's only been two weeks, and it takes about four to kick in, so we'll be looking for some improvements soon {fingers crossed!!}. Our neighbors have also stepped in to spend time with her when they're around and we're at work. We continue to give her lots of cuddles, kisses, and love... in addition to working with her on some training of our own. Still hoping for a happy ending on this one.

holidays: I decided that this year for Christmas/Hanukkah ... I'll be spending it in Chicago, just with yt and the pup of course. I've never missed a Christmas at home in New York {I once missed a Thanksgiving when I was studying abroad in London} so this was a hard decision for me. Despite my age, I still read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" with my siblings on Christmas Eve, put out cookies for Santa {and carrots for the reindeer}, which I expect to be gone by morning. For those of you who are judging me ... I do not blame you. I still have the same excitement as when I was a little girl ... to come downstairs in the morning and see a tree with presents scattered below it. However ... yt is working on Christmas this year {stupid doctor's schedule} and it just didn't feel right to jet to New York without him. So thankfully for Skype, I anticipate being able to keep some of the above traditions alive ... and there is always next year to make it back to New York.

new year's eve: I feel like the New Year's Eve version of the Grinch but I'm just not really into this one.. I think its the hype or the steep prices or something, but the night just never lives up to its price tag. This year I'm considering a cozy night at home with some bubbly and a few good blockbusters. I know... I'm an old married woman. With that being said, I have every intention of making it to midnight - so there.

Is there anything else you'd like to know about readers? Shoot me an email, leave a comment, let me know - I'm happy to share :)

This weekend, I'm working ... a lot. I'm off on Sunday and plan to make some latkes ... smothered in apple sauce, obvi. I'll also be putting together a little holiday wish list {it's mostly for yt, but I hope you get some good ideas from it, too!}.

That's all, friends. Happy Friday!
