Info Post

I came across this recipe a couple weeks ago on Pinterest and it immediately made my mouth water. I thought that they would make the perfect treat to bring to a friend's holiday party. I made them a bit more special with some gold shimmering sugar from Williams Sonoma - glittery gold sprinkles make everything better! I also added a bit more cream cheese than the original recipe called for and used regular Oreos in place of the double stuff variety. They were a huge hit! I'm already brainstorming other cookie varieties - I'd imagine any cream/cookie option would work. You could also sub in sprinkles or Oreo crumbs for the shimmering sugar if that's more your style!

(also if you don't burn your first batch of white chocolate and have to go to the grocery store at 11pm, they only take about 30 minutes to whip up and are a great no bake option. read: double boil your chocolate)

Here's what you'll need...
1 - 5 oz cream cheese, softened
2 - one package of oreos
3 - shimmering sugar/ sprinkles
4 - 14 oz of white chocolate

Here's what to do...
Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Add entire package of Oreos (minus one or two if you need a snack ... it happens) to food processor and process Oreos until they are finely crushed.
Put crushed Oreos in a medium bowl and add softened cream cheese. With a spoon, mix until well combined. The mixture will be loose.
Roll mixture into 1 inch balls (you will need to press mixture together with your hands as you form the balls). Place onto cookie sheet and then freeze for 15 minutes (you should have about 25 cake balls).
While the balls are in the freezer, melt chocolate. (I highly recommend using a double boiler rather than the microwave).
Remove the balls from the freezer and dip into melted chocolate, garnish with shimmering sugar immediately (before the chocolate sets). Let chocolate set completely. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

... and some pictures from our evening
I seriously have the most wonderful friends.
