Info Post
I spent this past weekend in Grand Haven, Michigan visiting one of my lovely friends. It was so nice to get out of the city for a couple nights and relax with good weather, good wine, and good food. Most importantly I indulged in some much needed girl time.

I took the train from Chicago after work on Friday and I was sitting on the beach (vino in hand) by 10pm. I was extremely impressed with my fire building skills (okay fine, I did have a fire starter to help matters... but it was a pretty great fire)! We made s'mores complete with lots of Hershey chocolate and melty marshmallows. It was the perfect start to the weekend.

Saturday morning was cloudy and cool. We took our coffee down to the beach for a morning walk. We tried to kayak and paddle board but got drenched in a rainstorm (reminiscent of a scene out of the Notebook).

Once the bad weather cleared, we took advantage of some awesome afternoon beach weather. Clear skies, warm sun, cool breeze and some afternoon cocktails in the lake made for such a relaxing day.

We spent a lot of time with Cooper, the man of the house...

We followed our beach time with an amazing dinner of steaks, red potatoes and the family famous salad with bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes and a house-made dressing (& more wine of course). We ended the night watching the sunset over Lake Michigan. Seriously a perfect weekend!

Miss you Katie.
