Info Post
My search for wedding invitations was long and hard. The options are limitless (seriously there are about 1 million invitation sites/stores/designs). I wanted something unique and that seamlessly fit with the rest our wedding,  but I didn't want to pay a small fortune for paper products. Enter Ellie Snow with Hello Tenfold, her amazing line of wedding invitations, save the dates, menu cards, thank you notes, etc. Her designs hit the mark for us.

They are simple enough to fit with the modern look we are drawn to but also have a touch of whimsy. I'm so excited to send out both our save the dates and our invitations in the months to come and I'm confident our guests will love them just as much as we do!

Ellie Snow is the creative genius behind our invitations and all of this beautiful paper. I hope that you'll enjoy getting to know a little bit more about her and her work. Her designs speak for themselves so once you're done here, please visit Ellie at Hello Tenfold or at her design blog, Mint!

How did you start designing wedding invitations?
I've always been interested in stationary design (lots of homemade cards when I was growing up!) but my interest in invitations specifically, came when I was doing research for my own wedding invitations in 2008. After sharing my invitations on Mint, I started getting inquiries and quickly set up an Etsy shop.

Did you have a defining moment when you knew this was the career path you wanted to take?
I think I've always wanted to be self employed. Combining my love for design and  printmaking to create wedding invitations seemed like the perfect fit! It happened really quickly and organically. I was surprised with how creative invitation design is, and how wonderful brides and grooms are to work with. I really don't miss the stress and back-and-forth, design-by-committee stuff that can happen with corporate design work.

What inspires your designs?
I love looking at vintage note cards and advertising, and I'm always inspired by pattern and forms in nature.

What has been your favorite project (invitation design or other) thus far?
I think that the Eleanor invitations are my favorite. I actually designed those in 2009 for a magazine, but the magazine decided to pull the feature because they were unhappy with the way the photo shoot turned out. It was a major bummer (especially since I had designed and hand-printed them, with hand-cut envelope liners and hand torn edges..a lot of work!). But now they're in the shop and I get excited when someone orders them. I love anything with a 1920's vibe.

If you had to define your style in 3 adjectives, what would they be?
Retro, whimsical and contemporary.

Who are your favorite designers (invitation or other)?
I think Anna Bond of Rifle is amazing. And HammerpressJessica Hische and Erin Jang. There are so many!
