I know a few things for sure: 1. unless something goes terribly wrong, I will finish and I will not be the last person to cross the finish line 2. money is motivation (I paid $65 to register for this race and an undisclosed amount at Lululemon on running gear, so I sure as hell better run my tush off) 3. my best friend will be right by my side and she's in far better shape than me... a little friendly competition never hurt anyone.
I like this quote.
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside of you that wants to quit"
Sort of a metaphor for life, don't ya think?
Okay enough on running.
After our race, I'm hosting a little Michigan Football watching get together at our apartment. There's lots to drink and eat on the menu including this dip, a savory cheesecake dip, and tequila sunrises (to bring us back to our college days). I'm sure some Chicago deep dish pizza will also make its way over. There will be a dinner at Girl and the Goat, some shopping, and lots of catching up (even though we talk daily). This weekend is going to be a good one!!
What are you up to this weekend?
Fall is in full swing in Chicago and it's absolutely glorious.
